American Girl and Monster High Team Up for Limited-Edition Frankie Stein Doll

American Girl is giving Frankie Stein a very different kind of makeover. The company has teamed with Monster High for a first-of-its-kind collaboration, transforming Frankie into an 18-inch American Girl doll limited to no more than 6,000 pieces worldwide. The new release is priced at $225 and comes in blue-and-black collectible packaging.

The doll keeps many of the details that make Frankie immediately recognizable, including a custom pale-green skin tone, black-and-white streaked hair and mismatched eyes, with one green and one blue. Her face features purple eye makeup and dark red lips, while printed stitch details appear across her neck, arms and legs. Silver-plated bolts are permanently attached to the sides of her neck.

Frankie’s outfit takes her familiar Monster High look and adapts it to American Girl’s larger format. She wears a blue-and-black plaid dress with a white collar, black stitching, sparkly mesh sleeves and a matching underskirt. A removable black satin tie features white polka dots and a silvery skullette pin, while a black belt is decorated with a lightning-bolt pendant, bolts and metal chains. The accessories continue the Monster High styling. Frankie comes with a quilted black purse with red straps and a skullette graphic, black-and-white striped platform Mary Janes with silver bolt accents, dangling blue skullette earrings and a silver-and-blue cuff bracelet.

Like a traditional American Girl doll, the 18-inch Frankie has eyes that open and close, a soft cotton body and movable vinyl head and limbs. Her hair is styled in a puffed half-ponytail, and her fingernails and toenails are painted red. The limited production should make this one especially interesting to collectors who follow both brands. American Girl says no more than 6,000 dolls have been created worldwide, with purchases limited to one per customer.

The Monster High Frankie Stein Doll by American Girl is being sold as a final-sale item, meaning returns, refunds and exchanges are not accepted.
