President Donald Trump $1 Coins To Have Rare Collectible Chase Version

The United States Mint will begin selling rolls and bags of the 2026 Semiquincentennial President Donald J. Trump $1 Coin on September 2 at noon ET, giving collectors another way to obtain the special dollar issued for America’s 250th anniversary.
The Mint says a 100-coin bag of circulating-quality Trump dollars struck at the Philadelphia Mint will be priced at $154.50. A 25-coin Philadelphia roll will cost $61. For the first 24 hours after sales begin, customers will be limited to two of each product per household.
Now, here is where it gets interesting. There is also a considerably scarcer version that collectors can potentially find inside the rolls and bags. On July 4, the Philadelphia Mint struck 250,000 Trump $1 coins carrying a special “July 4th” privy mark to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary. The Mint describes the coins as historic and the first of their kind.
Those July 4 coins will not be sold separately through the products announced in the release. Instead, they will be interspersed throughout 2026 Semiquincentennial President Donald J. Trump $1 Coin rolls and bags, creating a chase element for collectors opening the Mint products. The privy-mark coins have a circulating finish and, unlike the regular Philadelphia pieces, carry no mint mark.
The obverse features a portrait of President Trump surrounded by the inscriptions “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “1776~2026.” United States Mint Chief Engraver Joseph Menna created the design using an official White House photograph taken by Daniel Torok as inspiration.
On the reverse is the Presidential Seal, with an eagle holding an olive branch and arrows and a shield on its breast. The number “250” appears within the shield to mark the Semiquincentennial, while “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM” also appear on the coin. The reverse was designed and sculpted by former Mint Chief Engraver Frank Gasparro.
The coin was authorized under the Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act of 2020, which allows the Treasury Secretary to issue a new $1 coin for one year beginning January 1, 2026, as part of the United States’ 250th anniversary celebration.
The 250,000 randomly distributed July 4 privy-mark examples will bring a chase element to the rare edition of the coin. It’s no doubt the rare version will wind up selling on ebay for much more than a dollar. The big question is how high it will go.
Sales begin September 2 at noon ET through the United States Mint.
