PokémonXP and 2026 Pokémon World Championships Livestreams Bring Pokopia Cloud Island and Digital Rewards
Pokémon fans who can’t make it to San Francisco for PokémonXP and the 2026 Pokémon World Championships will still have plenty to watch, and plenty to collect digitally, from home. The Pokémon Company International has announced streaming plans for the August 28-30 events, including competitive matches, PokémonXP programming, a special Pokémon Pokopia experience and digital rewards spread across several Pokémon games.
The weekend begins Friday, August 28, with PokémonXP’s Opening Ceremonies. Coverage will be available through Pokémon’s Twitch and YouTube channels, with the festivities continuing through Sunday’s Closing Ceremonies from the Chase Center. PokémonXP programming will also be streamed for the first time, giving viewers at home access to selected panels and special announcements alongside the World Championships competition.
One of the more unusual parts of the weekend involves Pokémon Pokopia. Players will be able to visit a special Cloud Island inspired by PokémonXP and the 2026 World Championships, with the information needed to access it being revealed following Friday’s Opening Ceremonies. The special location brings part of the San Francisco celebration into the game for players watching from home.
The broadcasts will also offer a long list of digital rewards. In Pokémon Champions, viewers can earn a special 2026 Worlds Incineroar by watching the VGC competition for 60 minutes. Additional rewards include Quick Coupons on August 28, Teammate Tickets on August 29 and Training Tickets on August 30, while a password shown during the broadcast can unlock a 2026 Worlds outfit set for players’ avatars.
Pokémon Trading Card Game players have several reasons to tune in as well. Pokémon TCG Live rewards include six digital booster packs from Mega Evolution—Pitch Black, a Mega Zeraora ex playset and a 2026 World Championships crate containing additional in-game items. Pokémon TCG Pocket players can also receive 24 Pack Hourglasses by watching the Pokémon TCG Pocket panel for 30 minutes.
Pokémon GO viewers can earn Timed Research and event-themed rewards during the weekend. Among them is an encounter with a Tinkaton matching the one used by 2025 World Champion Beelzeboy, along with an Elite Charged TM. Watching selected PokémonXP programming can also lead to an encounter with Pikachu wearing a Cosmog-inspired spacesuit, while approved co-streamers will offer research featuring the 2026 World Championships costumed Pikachu.
Pokémon UNITE will have its own series of watch rewards. Watching for 15 minutes can unlock a 2026 World Championships sticker, 30 minutes earns Pikachu license art, and 45 minutes unlocks a Unite License Selection Box based on the lineup used by PERÚ UNITE during its 2025 World Championship run. Players can choose from Leafeon, Psyduck, Zacian, Inteleon or Crustle.
The 2026 World Championships will bring together competition in Pokémon Champions, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon GO and Pokémon UNITE, while PokémonXP expands the weekend beyond tournament play with its own fan-focused programming. Both events take place August 28 through August 30 in San Francisco, with Worlds based at the Moscone Center and Sunday’s championship action extending to the Chase Center.
