DC Deck-Building Game: Green Lantern Corps Launches on Kickstarter With Light-Up Power Rings and Exclusives

Green Lantern Deck Building Game

Cryptozoic Entertainment has launched a new Kickstarter for DC Deck-Building Game: Green Lantern Corps, and the campaign goes well beyond the standalone game itself. Along with new expansions and Kickstarter-exclusive content, backers can pick up a collectible set of eight wearable light-up Lantern Corps power rings, a Green Lantern travel box, playmats and acrylic standees.

Created in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products and DC, Green Lantern Corps is designed for two to four players and lets them play as Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner and other members of the Corps. The game takes players from Earth to Oa and across space while introducing dual card types and new uses for the series’ Transform mechanic.

Power Rings play directly into the gameplay. Each player has a Power Ring token that can be used to fuel Transforms and other abilities before needing to be recharged. Players can also shift between Lantern Corps, transform Starter cards into Hard-Light Constructs and even turn Weakness cards into advantages.

The Kickstarter Edition of the game will be exclusive to the campaign and features original cover artwork by Ryan Benjamin. Additional Kickstarter-exclusive stretch goals will unlock as the campaign moves forward. One of the standout additions is the Lantern Corps Light-Up Ring Collection. The set contains eight wearable LED rings representing the Green, Yellow, Red, Blue, Indigo, Star Sapphire, Orange and Black Lantern Corps. The top of each ring can be twisted to illuminate it when a player’s Power Ring is charged, but Cryptozoic is also positioning the set for display, conventions and cosplay.

A Green Lantern Edition Travel Box is also part of the campaign. It holds more than 500 sleeved cards and has a textured PU leather exterior with debossed Green Lantern artwork and a magnetic closure. The box unfolds into an approximately 22.5-by-13-inch microfiber game board decorated with Green Lantern art.

The campaign includes two new cooperative Crisis expansions as well. Crisis Expansion Pack 6: Witching Hour puts players in control of Justice League Dark as they face Hecate, The Upside Down Man and other magical threats, while Crisis Expansion Pack 7: War of Light follows the Green Lantern Corps across two storylines built around the Emotional Spectrum. Both can also be used to add cooperative play and their new mechanics to other DC Deck-Building Game base sets.

There is more still to be revealed. Crossover Pack 13 is scheduled to be fully unveiled during the second week of the campaign, while Rebirth One-Shot Pack 4: Bottled City adds John Stewart, Hawkgirl, Supergirl and Lobo as playable characters to DC Deck-Building Game: Rebirth. Its new scenario sends players against Brainiac’s drones as they attempt to stop the world’s greatest cities from being bottled.

Five Kickstarter-exclusive Lantern Corps Player Playmats, a Central Playmat with marked game zones and a new 2DZ Acrylic Standees pack featuring Supergirl, Lobo, Hawkgirl and John Stewart round out the new accessories. Backers will also have the opportunity to pick up recent and older releases from the DC Deck-Building Game line during the campaign.

Cryptozoic CEO Shahriar Fouladi called Green Lantern one of the most requested themes among fans of the nearly 15-year-old game line and described this as the company’s biggest DC Deck-Building Game Kickstarter to date. The DC Deck-Building Game: Green Lantern Corps Kickstarter runs through September 23, with pledge levels beginning at $75. Cryptozoic expectsKickstarter items to reach backers in July 2027, with retail releases of many of the products planned afterward
