Pokémon Reveals New PokémonXP and 2026 World Championships Pokémon Center Merchandise

Pokémon has revealed more of the exclusive merchandise headed to San Francisco for PokémonXP and the 2026 Pokémon World Championships, giving fans a closer look at the collectibles that will be available during the August 28-30 event. The new Pokémon merchandise preview expands on the first event-exclusive plush shown earlier this summer and highlights the broader Pokémon Center lineup created for the weekend.

Three distinct merchandise themes are being prepared for the event: a PokémonXP line, a 2026 Pokémon World Championships line and a San Francisco line. The latter incorporates the host city into the artwork, giving the merchandise a design specific to this year’s championships.

Pokémon had already revealed four exclusive plush for the event. The 2026 Worlds Pikachu wears a champion’s cape and elaborate crown, while the PokémonXP Pikachu is dressed for space travel in a jacket and colorful star-filled helmet. Charizard gets a space-themed look of its own with protective goggles and a backpack resembling a flame-spewing rocket. The PokémonXP Kirlia plush is posable and wears a wide-brimmed hat with a Butterfree charm while carrying a trunk-style bag decorated with a Butterfree silhouette.

Those plush will only be sold at the on-site Pokémon Center store. Access to that store is also more restricted than a normal Pokémon Center shopping trip: it will be open only to people registered to attend PokémonXP and the 2026 World Championships, with eligible attendees invited to reserve a shopping time.

The Pokémon Center opens ahead of the event itself, beginning Wednesday, August 26, and continues through Sunday, August 30. A separate Pokémon Center Outpost on Rayquaza Road will operate during PokémonXP weekend with additional merchandise.

The broader lineup will include T-shirts, jerseys, hoodies and hats, with some PokémonXP apparel featuring glow-in-the-dark details. Pokémon TCG players will also have several new accessories to choose from, including playmats, card sleeves, deck boxes and a binder, while other items range from key chains and mugs to stackable drinking glasses. New pins are also part of the collection, including glow-in-the-dark designs featuring Umbreon and Elgyem.

Some of the more unusual pieces go well beyond traditional event merchandise. Pokémon Center will offer a backpack modeled after the one worn by the new Charizard plush, complete with a window designed to display a small plush inside. That same rocket-wearing Charizard also appears on an LED neon sign, which Pokémon says is the first product of its kind ever released by Pokémon Center. Greninja gets another standout display piece with an acrylic dimmable mood light mounted on a wooden base, giving attendees several larger collectibles to consider alongside the apparel, pins and TCG accessories.

Pin collectors will have their own reason to visit. Official Pokémon pin trading will take place at Moscone Center throughout the three main event days, with additional pin-trading sessions scheduled at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis on Saturday and Sunday. Pokémon says a small selection of non-event-exclusive Pokémon Center pins will also be sold at the trading location.

PokémonXP is making its debut this year alongside the World Championships, which gives the merchandise program two major events to commemorate instead of one. More than 3,000 competitors are expected in San Francisco, with Pokémon TCG, Pokémon Champions, Pokémon GO and Pokémon UNITE competition taking place during the weekend.
