Nike Releases New Video Showcasing One Piece Collaboration

Nike One Piece Sneakers

Nike is giving fans another look at its newly announced One Piece collection, releasing a new promotional video through its official .SWOOSH Instagram account ahead of the collaboration’s September rollout. The video was posted shortly after Nike officially unveiled the Nike x One Piece collection. The video puts the collaboration back in the spotlight as Nike begins building toward the first releases early next month.

As CollectiblesNews.com reported, the centerpiece of the collaboration is a trio of Nike Air Max Plus designs inspired by Devil Fruits from Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece. The three sneakers draw inspiration from the Gomu Gomu no Mi, Ope Ope no Mi and Mera Mera no Mi, with Nike developing different colors and redesigned uppers for each version.

The collection extends beyond sneakers with jerseys, caps, T-shirts and additional apparel featuring One Piece imagery and Nike design influences. There is also a One Piece vest that is inspired by one of the drawbacks of eating a Devil Fruit.

In the video, the devil fruits are detected and confirmed to be real. Each of the three sneakers are given close-ups, as well as other merchandise, including the rather unusual One Piece vest.

Nike will begin rolling out the collaboration with a Tokyo pop-up running September 4 through September 6. Select retailers in international markets will receive pieces from the collection on September 12 and September 19, followed by the broader SNKRS release on September 25.

Nike had teased the One Piece project before formally announcing the collection, but the latest video marks another stage in the launch campaign now that the sneakers and apparel have been fully revealed.
