Hulk Hogan’s WrestleMania II Championship Belt Sells for $414,800

A WWF World Heavyweight Championship belt from the height of Hulkamania has sold for $414,800 at Heritage Auctions. The 1986 belt, which was owned by Hulk Hogan and photo-matched to the day of WrestleMania II, sold on August 21 during Heritage’s Summer Platinum Night Sports Auction. The $414,800 result includes the auction house’s buyer’s premium.
The belt dates to Hogan’s first WWF championship reign and features the familiar center plate reading “WWF World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion,” surrounded by side plates decorated with international flags.
Its strongest connection comes from April 7, 1986, the day WrestleMania II was staged across New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Hogan headlined the Los Angeles portion of the show, defeating King Kong Bundy inside a steel cage to retain the WWF Championship.
Heritage Auctions says the belt has been photo-matched to an image of Hogan taken that day. It was also matched to six additional photographs from separate Hogan photo shoots, creating a visual record of the belt’s use during one of the most recognizable periods of his career. Signs of that use remain on the piece. Heritage noted dings and scrapes to the metal plates, creasing in the leather and areas of faded paint on the plates and buttons, while describing the belt as being in great overall condition.
The provenance goes beyond the photo matches. Hogan later gave the belt to the son of a close family friend. An accompanying photograph shows Hogan in his yellow trunks in a green room after a match, standing with the young recipient and the championship belt. The lot was accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from SIA Photo Match and a Letter of Provenance from the consignor.
The $414,800 sale follows another major Hogan result at Heritage earlier this year. His yellow WrestleMania I boots sold for $1,037,000 in February 2026, which Heritage described as a record for wrestling memorabilia and the first wrestling item to sell for more than $1 million.
