Krispy Kreme Teases Pokémon Collaboration

Something Pokémon-related is officially coming to Krispy Kreme. Krispy Kreme teased an upcoming collaboration on X, telling Pokémon fans, “Trainers, keep your eyes peeled” and adding that “a sweet adventure is almost here.”
The company did not reveal the full collection, launch date, flavors or exactly what will be included, but the announcement appears to confirm an earlier leak showing Pokémon-themed Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
Snack-focused social media account Snackolator posted an early look at the apparent collaboration before Krispy Kreme’s official tease, showing doughnuts based on Pikachu, Charmander, Jigglypuff and a Poké Ball.
According to Snackolator, the four doughnuts appeared in retail packaging intended for grocery stores. The account said it did not yet have information on the flavors and cautioned that there could potentially be additional items beyond the four pictured.
Now Krispy Kreme’s own Pokémon-themed teaser makes it clear that an official announcement is approaching.
Could There Be More Than Doughnuts?
For collectors, the big question is whether the promotion will stop with Pokémon-themed doughnuts or whether Krispy Kreme has something more planned.
At this point, Krispy Kreme has not announced trading cards, figures, toys or any other physical collectibles as part of the collaboration. Its teaser simply tells Pokémon “Trainers” to watch for a “sweet adventure,” while the leaked images point toward themed doughnuts and packaging.
Still, Pokémon collaborations have an obvious crossover with the collectibles world, which leaves plenty of room for speculation until Krispy Kreme makes the full reveal.
Could special promotional Pokémon cards be included with purchases? Could there be limited packaging, stickers or another giveaway? Nothing like that has been confirmed.
Even if the promotion consists only of doughnuts, the packaging itself could end up becoming the collectible. Snackolator’s leak showed Pokémon characters incorporated into grocery-store packaging, and limited promotional boxes tied to major franchises have a habit of being saved rather than immediately thrown away.
Will Someone Slab the Box?
Then there is the more unusual possibility.
With collectors now grading and encapsulating everything from trading cards and tickets to unusual promotional items, it would hardly be shocking to eventually see somebody preserve a Pokémon x Krispy Kreme box as a collectible.
And while an actual doughnut would present some obvious long-term storage problems, the Pokémon collecting community has seen enough unconventional memorabilia that someone attempting to preserve or display one would not be entirely surprising.
