Funko Releases 1,200-Piece Michelangelo Eating Pizza Pop!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Michelangelo Eating Pizza Funko Pop

Funko has released a new limited-edition Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collectible featuring Michelangelo eating pizza, with only 1,200 pieces produced.

The Pop! Michelangelo (Eating Pizza) with Pop! Protector is part of Funko’s Limited Edition program and dropped on Funko.com on August 11 at 9 AM PT for $39.99. Funko is allowing fans to enter a drawing to be able to purchase the highly limited figure.

The figure is based on the 1987 animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series and depicts Michelangelo eating pizza. The approximately 4-inch vinyl figure comes pre-packaged inside a UV Premium Plastic Pop! Protector designed to help prevent damage to the collectible.

Funko is limiting purchases to one per household, and the item is listed as final sale.

New Authentication Packaging Included

The Michelangelo release also includes Funko’s new authentication packaging. According to Funko, the packaging uses micro-optic technology and contains a unique item code that can be verified through Octane5.

Collectors can use a QR code on the packaging to reach Octane5 and enter the item code to verify the collectible. Funko says the micro-optic stickers cannot be duplicated or replicated. The Michelangelo Pop! carries box number 1889.

Part of Funko’s Limited Edition Drop Calendar

The Michelangelo release is part of Funko’s Limited Edition Pop! Drop Calendar, which tracks upcoming limited-edition collectibles available through Funko and select retailers.

Funko describes the program as offering collectors one chance to obtain the listed limited-edition items, saying that once they are gone, “they’re gone for good.”

Other August releases listed on the calendar include a Batman Black and White Pop! Comic Covers release that dropped August 4 for $49.99.

Retailer-exclusive releases include a One Piece collectible limited to 9,500 pieces through Toy Temple Collectibles and a Sonic the Hedgehog release limited to 9,500 pieces through GameStop, both released on August 5.

Funko also lists a Harry Potter Target exclusive limited to 7,500 pieces for August 12, an Alice in Wonderland BoxLunch exclusive limited to 9,500 pieces for August 19 and a WWE Walmart exclusive limited to 7,500 pieces for August 26.

At just 1,200 pieces, the Michelangelo eating pizza Pop! is produced in a substantially smaller quantity than the other retailer exclusives currently listed on Funko’s August Limited Edition calendar.
