Mattel Launches Whitney Houston Barbie Signature Doll

Mattel has launched a new Barbie Signature doll honoring Whitney Houston, recreating one of the singer’s most recognizable looks from the “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)” music video.

The new Whitney Houston Barbie is available for pre-order through Mattel Creations for $60 and is expected to ship on or before September 11, 2026 and is also available on retail sites such as Amazon.com.

The doll is dressed in a lilac tank dress inspired by Houston’s look in the 1987 music video and comes with colorful earrings, pumps and a microphone stand.

Mattel also gave the doll voluminous curls styled to reflect Houston’s 1980s appearance, while the face sculpt is based on the singer’s likeness. The release is part of the Barbie Signature line and is designated as a Black Label collectible.

Mattel designer Carlyle Nuera designed the doll, which also comes with a display stand and Certificate of Authenticity.

Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)” became one of the defining songs of her career, and Mattel’s new release focuses specifically on the colorful fashion and performance style associated with its music video.

The Whitney Houston Barbie joins Mattel’s growing lineup of Barbie Signature releases based on influential figures in music and entertainment.

The Barbie Signature Whitney Houston Doll is currently available for pre-order through Mattel Creations, with a limit of three dolls per customer.
