Beckett Pauses Base and Standard Card Grading Submissions Due to High Demand

Beckett has temporarily paused new online submissions for its Base and Standard card-grading services as the company works through increased demand and expands its grading capacity.

The company expects to begin reopening the paused services on September 15, although Beckett said that date is based on its current operational progress and could change.

Beckett said demand for card grading has increased significantly. The company explained that the temporary pause is intended to protect grading quality and estimated turnaround times while its team concentrates on existing orders.

Every card submitted to Beckett can represent a collection, investment or personal memory, the company said, making it important to control incoming volume while maintaining grading standards and consistency.

Existing Base and Standard submissions will continue to be processed during the pause. Packages that are already in transit will also be accepted and handled as usual. Beckett’s faster Express and Priority services remain available for new submissions.

Base service is normally priced at $14.95 per card without subgrades or $17.95 with subgrades and carries an estimated turnaround time of at least 75 business days. Standard service is priced at $34.95 per card with an estimated turnaround time of 45 business days.

Express service costs $79.95 per card and has an estimated turnaround time of 15 business days. Priority service is priced at $124.95 per card with an estimated 5 business days turnaround time.

Collectors can join Beckett’s waitlist to receive updates about when Base and Standard submission availability returns. When the services reopen, Beckett plans to manage availability on an ongoing basis so incoming submissions remain aligned with its processing capacity. The company said this approach is intended to protect estimated turnaround times.

Limited Base and Standard submission capacity may also be offered at select card shows during the temporary pause. Beckett currently plans to accept a limited number of submissions at the Front Row Card Show in Las Vegas on August 15 and 16 and the Dallas Card Show from September 10 through September 13.

Event submissions will be subject to capacity and may become unavailable once the allotted volume has been reached. Beckett said specific availability and submission limits will be announced before each event.

During the pause, Beckett said it is hiring, adding resources and expanding operating hours across its grading operations. The company has also implemented software improvements and workstation enhancements intended to increase production.
