Tarik Skubal’s 1,000th Career Strikeout Celebrated With New Topps NOW Card

Topps has released a new Tarik Skubal card celebrating the Detroit Tigers pitcher becoming the fastest player in franchise history to reach 1,000 career strikeouts.

The milestone is featured on 2026 MLB Topps NOW Card No. 498. The base card shows Skubal pitching in his Tigers uniform and carries the caption, “Fastest in Tigers history to 1,000 career Ks.”

Topps is also offering collectors a chance to receive Skubal image-variation short prints. One variation shows the pitcher acknowledging the crowd, while another image appearing on the back features the Comerica Park scoreboard displaying his 1,000-strikeout milestone.

The card is being sold as a print-on-demand release, with the final base-card print run determined by the number ordered before the sales window closes. Topps will reveal the total afterward through its MLB Topps NOW archive.

Collectors can also look for randomly inserted foil parallels numbered to 50 or fewer. The parallel lineup includes Gold Foil cards numbered to 50, Orange Foil versions numbered to 25, Black Foil cards numbered to 10, Red Foil parallels numbered to five and a one-of-one FoilFractor. Any parallel or short print received will replace the base card in the order.

Additional Chrome parallels could unlock depending on the card’s final print run. A total above 50,000 would add Chrome parallels numbered to 99 and 50. Reaching 100,000 would unlock additional Chrome cards numbered to 25, 10 and five, along with a one-of-one SuperFractor. Higher thresholds could add Opal Chrome parallels and a one-of-one White OpalFractor Chrome.

A single card costs $8.99. Topps is also offering quantity pricing of five cards for $34.99, 10 for $59.99 and 20 for $99.99. Orders are expected to ship seven to 10 business days after the ordering period ends.

The Tarik Skubal Topps NOW card is available only through July 31 on Topps’ website.
