Logan Paul Teases Potential Reveal of Most Valuable Pokémon Cards in the World

Logan Paul says a risky collectibles experiment could reveal some of the most valuable Pokémon cards in the world during a livestream tonight.
At the center of the event is a Pokémon pre-production sheet that Paul values at $400,000. The sheet came from issue No. 223 of the Japanese magazine CoroCoro Comic and contains cards that must be peeled away from the backing.
Paul plans to peel the sheet live on his YouTube channel at 9:30 PM ET.
According to Paul, one of the cards underneath is Pikachu No. 1. He said thousands of examples have been graded but none have received a PSA 10 grade.
“Peeling this $400,000 pre-production sheet that came from within a Japanese Magazine (CoroCoro Comic #223) is, by far, the biggest gamble of my life,” Paul wrote.
Paul believes that uncovering a pristine example could result in one of the most important Pokémon card grading submissions ever. His suggestion that the cards could become the most valuable Pokémon cards in the world remains speculative and would depend on their condition, authentication, grades and any future sale.
In addition, the livestream will also feature the opening of a first-edition Pokémon card box that Paul values at $450,000.
The box offers a chance to pull first-edition cards featuring Charizard and other Pokémon from the original trading card release.
Unopened first-edition Pokémon boxes have become major collectibles themselves, making the decision to break the seal another significant gamble. Once opened, the box’s value will depend on the cards inside and their condition.
Paul will also open a box of 1986-87 Fleer Basketball that he values at $160,000.
The product is known for containing Michael Jordan’s rookie card, along with other important basketball cards from the era.
The possible Jordan rookie pull adds a second major collecting category to a livestream otherwise centered on Pokémon.
Paul described the event as an attempt to achieve something that has so far proved impossible: uncovering a Pikachu No. 1 capable of earning a PSA 10.
The livestream is scheduled to begin tonight at 9:30 PM ET on Paul’s YouTube channel.
