One-of-One Lamine Yamal Rookie Card Sells for Record $707,600

A one-of-one Lamine Yamal rookie card has sold through Goldin for $707,600, setting a new public auction record for any card featuring the FC Barcelona star.

The record-setting card is the Black parallel of Yamal’s Kaboom! rookie card from 2023-24 Panini Donruss FIFA. Numbered one of one, it is the only Black version of card No. 7 produced for the set.

Goldin announced the result following the close of the auction, calling the $707,600 price the highest publicly reported sale for any Lamine Yamal card.

Kaboom! cards are known for their comic book-inspired designs and are among the most recognizable case-hit inserts in modern sports card products. The Black parallel’s one-of-one status placed this example at the top of the rarity scale for Yamal’s Donruss FIFA Kaboom! cards.

Yamal’s rookie cards have produced several major results as collectors compete for rare examples from his first season with Barcelona. Previous high-profile sales have included one-of-one autograph cards and SuperFractors, but none had publicly reached the $707,600 paid for the Kaboom! Black rookie.

The result also places the card among the most valuable modern soccer cards sold publicly. While Yamal appears on cards from several manufacturers and products, the combination of a popular Kaboom! design, rookie-card designation and unique one-of-one Black parallel helped make this example one of his most significant collectibles.

Goldin offered the card as part of one of its Elite auctions.
