HI-CHEW Enters Collectibles Market With MGA’s Miniverse Vending Machine

HI-CHEW is entering the collectibles category for the first time through a licensing collaboration with MGA’s Miniverse.
The candy brand is featured in a limited-edition MGA’s Miniverse Real Brands Vending Machine, which brings HI-CHEW Original Mix packaging into the company’s line of miniature collectibles. The collaboration is HI-CHEW’s first licensed product partnership.
The teal vending machine includes three exclusive Real Brands miniatures. One of the items is a miniature HI-CHEW Original Mix peg bag filled with tiny replica HI-CHEW “chewlets.” The miniature candy pieces are placed inside a replica of the brand’s Original Mix packaging.
Each vending machine also includes a miniature credit card that can be used to dispense the included snacks from the vending compartment. Collectors can arrange the miniatures on the machine’s display shelves or use the machine with other Real Brands miniatures, which are sold separately.
“At HI-CHEW, we’re always looking for new ways to deepen how fans experience our brand beyond taste alone,” said Teruhiro Kawabe, chief representative for the USA and president and CEO of Morinaga America, Inc.
Kawabe said the collaboration combines HI-CHEW with Miniverse’s detailed miniature format and gives fans a new way to interact with the candy brand.
The MGA’s Miniverse Real Brands Vending Machine has a retail price of $19.99. It is available through MGA’s online store and at retailers that sell MGA’s Miniverse products, including Walmart, Target and Amazon.
The press release notes that the included ingredients are not edible and that the product is not suitable for children under 8 years old.
