McFarlane Toys Opens Preorders for Absolute Batman by Nick Dragotta Resin Statue

McFarlane Toys has opened preorders for a new Absolute Batman resin statue based on Nick Dragotta’s artwork.
The Absolute Batman by Nick Dragotta Limited Edition Resin Statue is available for preorder now at select retailers, according to McFarlane Toys. The statue is part of the DC Direct line and is based on Dragotta’s interpretation of Batman from DC’s Absolute Universe.
McFarlane’s product page describes the statue as a darker and more uncompromising version of the Dark Knight. In the Absolute Universe, Bruce Wayne is presented without the wealth and privilege traditionally associated with Batman, relying instead on determination, physical strength and tactical ability while fighting Gotham City’s criminal underworld.
The statue stands approximately 7.9 inches tall, including its base. It is made of polyresin and is designed as a detailed display piece based on Dragotta’s art. McFarlane says the statue features a dynamic pose, sculpted detail and a museum-quality finish. The statue is also hand-numbered on the base and listed as a limited-edition release.
The statue is priced at $249.99, and several retailers have already sold out of their preorders.
Absolute Batman has become one of DC’s most talked-about recent character reinterpretations, and this McFarlane statue gives collectors a high-end display version of that design. The release also gives Nick Dragotta’s artwork a physical collectible format through DC Direct and McFarlane Toys.
The statue is not a standard action figure. It is a premium display collectible built around a newer version of Bruce Wayne and a specific artist’s style.
