Harry Potter Back to Hogwarts

Harry Potter’s annual Back to Hogwarts celebration is returning for 2026 with a global lineup of events, screenings, retail activations and collectible merchandise tied to the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Warner Bros. Discovery just announced the 2026 Back to Hogwarts program. The celebration will include a one-week theatrical re-release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone / Philosopher’s Stone with 12 minutes of exclusive behind-the-scenes content, along with live fan events, online programming and retail experiences around the world.

Universal Orlando Resort will offer exclusive 25th anniversary experiences from August 1 through September 1, including a limited-edition Butterbeer Mug available while supplies last. The park will also feature special food and beverage offerings and the return of the Hogwarts Always castle projection show in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade.

Universal Studios Hollywood will also run Back to Hogwarts experiences from August 1 through September 1, including an encounter with the Monster Book of Monsters, exclusive giveaways, themed treats and limited-time park offerings.

Both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood will debut a new park-exclusive Build-A-Bag collection by Lug. The collection will allow fans to customize their own Wizarding World-inspired look, giving the celebration another merchandise angle beyond the anniversary mug and giveaways.

Universal Studios Japan will mark September 1 with exclusive after-hours access to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter for select guests. The park will also bring back the Hogwarts Castle Walk and offer special themed giveaways and digital collectibles.

Universal Beijing Resort will debut Hogwarts Always, a new projection show celebrating a year at Hogwarts. The resort will also offer new themed food and beverages, exclusive merchandise, immersive photo opportunities, special giveaways and a Gathering Night event on August 28.

The Warner Bros. Studio Tour London will also take part in Back to Hogwarts. Guests will receive complimentary Hogwarts Train Tickets included in Summer Feature Activity Passports. Fans can also enter a Back to Hogwarts competition for a personalized Hogwarts trunk signed by Bonnie Wright, Mark Williams, James Phelps and Oliver Phelps, plus two tickets to visit the Studio Tour on September 1. One runner-up will receive a merchandise bundle from the new Harry Potter Shop Back to Hogwarts collection.

Harry Potter Shop New York and Harry Potter Shop Chicago will hold an 11:00 a.m. Back to Hogwarts countdown, offer limited-edition treats at the Butterbeer Bars and sell the Back to Hogwarts collection. The Chicago shop will also offer an exclusive new Back to Hogwarts digital frame through the Sorting Hat photo experience.

Warner Bros. Discovery also said fans will be able to find special Back to Hogwarts collections, commemorative products and themed celebrations from brands including LEGO Harry Potter, The Noble Collection, Rubies, Colgate and Hallmark.

The celebration will also include mobile game tie-ins. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery will offer new adventures, magical rewards, fan celebrations and limited-time in-game events. Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells will count down to the day with in-game events, rewards and social experiences.

The broader Back to Hogwarts schedule includes live fan celebrations in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, along with the annual Back to Hogwarts Showcase on the official Harry Potter YouTube and TikTok channels on September 1.
