CGC Announces 2026 Comics Registry Award Winners

CGC Comics has announced the winners of the 2026 CGC Comics Registry Awards, recognizing top collections across Golden Age, Silver Age, Bronze Age, Copper Age, Modern Age, magazines, Signature Series, custom sets and international comics.

The CGC Comics Registry includes more than 700,000 books registered across more than 100,000 sets. CGC said its judges reviewed the top sets throughout the Registry before selecting this year’s winners.

The 2026 John Verzyl Sr. Registry Masterpiece Award went to Chaddesden33. CGC said the collector has been part of the CGC Comics Registry since 2009 and has earned more than 2.6 million total points across more than 1,000 comics registered in 40 Competitive set types. The collection focuses heavily on Silver and Bronze Age Marvel, including high-grade Daredevil, Amazing Spider-Man and Fantastic Four sets.

The Best in Age Golden award went to RedGiant for a Blue Ribbon Comics set. CGC highlighted the early Golden Age MLJ anthology title, which began in 1939 and included crime, humor, science fiction and fantasy adventure stories.

The Best in Age Silver award went to Rosland for a Doctor Strange Silver Age set. The set focuses on the character’s early adventures across multiple titles from the era, including the Steve Ditko stories that helped establish Doctor Strange’s place in Marvel’s Silver Age.

Zordar won Best in Age Bronze for an Incredible Hulk #102-#474 set. CGC said the Registry member assembled a 100 percent complete run in high grades.

The Best in Age Copper award went to mys13131 for an Alpha Flight set from the 1983 Marvel series. CGC said the collector has spent more than 15 years assembling the Copper Age title and highlighted a run of CGC-graded 9.8 books.

CleverName won Best in Age Modern for a G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero set from the 2023 series. CGC noted the collection’s focus on Signature Series books and high-grade examples.

The Best Magazine award went to Autry-Man for an American Splendor set. CGC highlighted the collector’s top-ranked Registry set, including the sole Signature Series copy of American Splendor #1 graded CGC 9.6.

The Best CGC x JSA award went to Markmel for a CGC x JSA Collection custom set. The collection includes high-grade books with authenticated signatures and sketches across multiple comic genres.

The Best Custom award went to 56echo for a Jim Lee Covers Custom Set. CGC said the set includes more than 800 Jim Lee covers spanning the artist’s career, with rare variants and Signature Series books included in the collection.

Kir Kanos won Best International for a Star Wars Canadian Editions set based on the 1977 Star Wars comic series. CGC noted the challenge of assembling high-grade examples of the Canadian editions because of smaller print runs and scarcity.

The Best Presented award went to Iconic1s for a DC Bloodlines/Bloodbath set from 1993. The award recognizes the collector’s presentation of the crossover event through images, set descriptions and Registry display.

The Best Signature Series award went to Kamboures for a CGC Signature Series Custom Set. CGC said the collection includes more than 280 entries, with a focus on Incredible Hulk signed and sketched books.

CGC said the Registry Awards are meant to recognize the strongest registered comic sets across multiple categories, including quality, completion, presentation and collecting focus. The 2026 winners show the range of the Registry, from Golden Age MLJ comics and Silver Age Marvel keys to modern G.I. Joe, international Star Wars editions, Jim Lee covers and original sketch collections.
