Keepsake Trading Cards Announces Ultimate OZ Universe SDCC Exclusive
Keepsake Trading Cards is bringing The Ultimate OZ Universe to trading cards with a new convention-exclusive release for San Diego Comic-Con 2026.
The company announced a partnership to produce official trading cards for The Ultimate OZ Universe, with the collection making its debut at SDCC 2026. The limited release will be available only at Keepsake’s booth, #135. According to the announcement, the SDCC-exclusive product will not be sold anywhere else, either in stores or online.
Each box will be priced at $30 and will include one guaranteed encased Signagraph card. The cards feature characters from The Ultimate OZ Universe, including the Lion, Dorothy, the Hungry Tiger, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, Glinda, H.M. Wogglebug T.E., Jack Pumpkinhead, Mombi and more. The full base set includes 20 cards, with every card in the collection numbered to 50 copies or fewer.
Keepsake will also host a signing event with Ultimate OZ Universe artist Mike Deodato on Friday at 1 p.m. at Booth 135. The first 50 collectors to purchase a box each day of the show on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be entered into the signing. Those collectors will have the opportunity to receive the first-ever signed Ultimate OZ Universe trading cards.
The SDCC release will be followed by a full breaker release in the fourth quarter of 2026. Keepsake said that later release will give more collectors a chance to experience the Ultimate OZ Universe collection after its convention debut.
The Ultimate OZ Universe is described as a modern, canon-faithful continuation of L. Frank Baum’s OZ novels. The project was built by AWA in collaboration with ShaggyMan Productions and Alchemation, alongside OZ historians, with the goal of honoring the original mythology while expanding the world beyond the yellow brick road.
The announcement also notes that Volume 2, Ultimate OZ Universe: Into the Outerlands, is scheduled for release on August 25. The new volume follows Dorothy and Princess Ozma on separate but connected paths as ancient threats rise and the future of OZ is tested.
